Purpose:
This policy outlines the procedure and associated fees for handling firearms that arrive at our address without prior notice or arrangement from the sender.
Policy:
- Advance Notification Requirement
All individuals or businesses shipping firearms to our address must notify us in advance, providing details about the shipment, including:
- Sender's name and contact information
- Expected date of arrival
- Firearm make, model, and serial number, if applicable
- Unannounced Firearms
Any firearm received without prior notice will be subject to a storage fee. Such shipments may also experience processing delays due to the lack of prior arrangements.
- Storage Fee
For any unannounced firearm that arrives at our facility, a storage fee of $20 per day will be assessed beginning the day the firearm arrives and will continue to accrue until it is claimed and removed by the designated recipient.
- Notification of Recipient
Upon receipt of an unannounced firearm, we will make reasonable efforts to notify the sender or intended recipient. However, the storage fee will apply regardless of our success in reaching the contact(s) associated with the shipment.
- Pickup and Payment Requirements
To claim the firearm, the recipient must:
- Present valid identification and any required documentation
- Pay the total accrued storage fee prior to release of the firearm
- Unclaimed Firearms
Firearms that remain unclaimed for more than 90 days will be handled according to applicable local, state, and federal laws regarding unclaimed or abandoned firearms.
Acceptance of Policy
By shipping firearms to our address, senders and recipients acknowledge acceptance of this policy and agree to pay any applicable storage fees if advance notification is not provided.
